Honeymoon Fashion – What I’ve Bought So Far

I can’t quite believe that in two months time we will be heading off on our honeymoon…where has the time gone?! With the wedding taking main priority when it comes to planning, I kind of forgot that we had a honeymoon to book and plan. And with that comes the wardrobe!!

We have just booked our honeymoon in the last week so its safe to say I’ve been online shopping for bikinis and outfits like a mad woman since. I will chat all about where we go etc. once we are back home, so I can give a proper review of the resort and explain how we went about booking everything from flights, to accommodation and transfers.

So for now, lets talk about what I plan on bringing with me –

Swimwear

I plan on being in a bikini or swimwear for most of the day so was super excited to pick up some new pieces to take with me. Although I want to look a million dollars in them, I also didn’t want to spend a fortune either as they will be worn once and we don’t plan on being somewhere hot until at least the following year. I ordered a few pieces from ASOS, Missguided, PrettyLittleThing.com and a fab website called Andi Bagus – I spotted one of my favourite instagrammers, Kristy Green in their brand and it had me SOLD on a few items. I’ll attach links to some of my favourite pieces at the end of the post. I also popped in to Penneys and have been picking up some of their swimsuits which I think they have absolutely nailed this season. They have a very flattering cut to them with the high cut leg…making those of us with shorter legs (I am 5’5″) look like a long legged beauty! Thanks for that Penneys!! And yes…I had to pick up one white swimsuit with BRIDE on it, because if you don’t wear something to tell everyone you’re just married…did it even happen?? Check it out HERE

Footwear

Most of my holidays involve bringing wedges or flats for daytime and heels for nighttime. However, I was told that where we are going, most people stay barefoot for the majority of their stay – (que panic pedicure booking!!) I like the idea of this, as we plan on truly switching off and relaxing for this break so not having to put on heels is kind of a luxury. I will probably pack a simple barely there sandal just incase. I will link the ones I have been loving below too. In terms of sandals, I tend to bring one black pair, one neutral colour and than maybe an embellished, more sparkly pair if I want to wear them in the evening.

Clothing

Again, because this is our honeymoon and not like any other holiday we have been on, I want to make sure I have some romantic and special pieces for the evening time. Although I want to look dressed up, I can’t wait to pare it back with less makeup and less glam for a few days. I’ve ordered some really pretty and feminine dresses that will look beautiful but still be comfortable and laid back. I also plan on eating and drinking everything in sight so no body cons allowed!!

I have also picked up some basic denim shorts for the day too, incase we want to leave the resort or do any activities throughout our trip. Again, I find the online sites above great for this, as well as River Island, Zara and Mango.¬†I have chosen lots of lace and linen too as they work well in hotter climates. And don’t forget about hats. If you’re like me, and your skin is as Irish as it gets and HATES the sun then you’ll need some hats to protect your scalp and face during the day. I’m still looking for a cute sun hat that I can pack easily in my case. I am so afraid of the shape being destroyed so any tips, send them my way! I will leave any items I have already picked up linked below –

So that’s where I am at right now in terms of my honeymoon wardrobe so far. I plan on doing a post on airport fashion and also on the beauty items I plan on bringing with me too.

If you are planning your honeymoon I hope you are enjoying every single second of it like we are…

Lots of love,

Rosie x
